About ASHE
Meet Ashe—a joyful, goofy, toy-loving goofball who lives life at full speed and loves with his whole heart. If enthusiasm were an Olympic sport, Ashe would bring home the gold! Whether he's launching out of his crate like a rocket, tossing his toys into the air just so he can chase them himself, splashing through a creek, or vibrating with excitement while trying his very best to sit politely for a treat, Ashe has one goal in life: have fun and make his people smile. Once you've earned his trust, you'll never wonder where he is. Ashe is the definition of a Velcro dog. He'll follow you from room to room, happily supervise dinner preparations, and if he's invited onto the bed, he'll absolutely vote to be the "big spoon." Ashe is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He already knows commands like sit, wait, come, go to bed, and bring it, walks beautifully on leash when given clear guidance, loves playing fetch, and would happily spend all day exploring hiking trails with an active family. He thrives when he has structure, consistency, and someone willing to keep both his body and brilliant mind busy. Ashe is still learning that the world is a safe place. Because of the severe abuse and neglect he survived before coming to Stella's Sanctuary, he can be wary of unfamiliar people and needs thoughtful introductions. Once he knows you're one of "his people," though, his loyalty is unmatched. He wants nothing more than to make you proud. He's currently working with a professional trainer and continues to make wonderful progress every week. Ashe responds exceptionally well to positive leadership, learns quickly, and truly wants to do the right thing. The truth is, Ashe shouldn't even be here. When he was rescued, he was little more than skin and bones. His body carried scars from neglect, and his eyes had almost lost their sparkle. But someone looked past what he had been through and saw who he could become. That's why his name is Ashe. Because he truly has risen from the ashes. Today, he's healthy, strong, endlessly entertaining, fiercely loyal, and ready to spend the rest of his life loving the family who gives him the chance he has always deserved. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh every day, keep you active, love you with his whole heart, and remind you what resilience looks like, Ashe just might be your perfect match.
Ideal Home
Ashe's ideal home will be active, patient, and experienced enough to appreciate a young dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He would do best without cats, and while he has canine friends, careful introductions with other dogs are important. Because new people can still make him nervous and his enthusiasm can accidentally knock someone over, an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy children would likely be the best fit.
Ongoing Health
Ashe is healthy and strong. He is neutered.
Training & Support
Ashe is smart, eager to please, and already knows Sit, Wait, Come, Go to Bed, and Bring It. He's currently working with a professional trainer and continues to make fantastic progress. He responds exceptionally well to positive leadership. He walks beautifully on leash with structure and loves learning. He is house trained and crate trained, viewing his crate as his safe space.
