Meet Mack Truck! This 9-month-old, 50lb Pitbull Terrier mix is a bundle of goofy love. Mack has overcome a traumatic accident where he was hit by a car, leading to a broken pelvis and a painful skin infection. Despite this, he's shown incredible resilience and a loving, trusting nature. He's healing beautifully, gaining weight, and his sweet personality is shining through. You'd never guess all he's been through with his happy tail wags and eagerness to snuggle. Mack loves to lean his whole body against you for comfort and attention, making personal space a thing of the past! He's curious and loves exploring, is great with other dogs, and enjoys playtime. Mack is crate trained, mostly house-trained, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come.
Ideal Home
Mack needs a family who can be diligent about keeping unsafe items out of reach, as he has a tendency to put anything and everything in his mouth. He is still a bit nervous around cars and busy roads due to his accident, so a patient and reassuring environment will help him continue to gain confidence.
Ongoing Health
Mack has undergone surgery for a broken pelvis and has recovered from a skin infection. He will continue to require medical care and monitoring as he recovers. He is up-to-date on core vaccinations, dewormed, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. He has also tested negative for heartworm.
Training & Support
Mack is generally well-behaved but will need continued support in keeping potentially hazardous items out of reach. His nervousness around cars and busy roads can be managed with patience and reassurance.
