About Cottontail (Max)
Mr. Popular! Max, also known as Cottontail, is a friendly, laid-back, curious, brave, and loving pup who gets along with almost everyone! He was the biggest pup in his litter and was raised with proper socialization. Max was previously adopted into a home with other dogs, cats, kids, and even farm animals. He enjoyed an office environment with his owners and was well-behaved around visitors, napping between greetings. Max is very food-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for learning advanced training! He already knows "sit," "paw," and "come" (though he comes on his own time!). He's learning not to jump up to greet new friends. His favorite activities include meeting new people, chewing on tasty treats like gullet sticks and antlers, and enthusiastically removing squeakers from his toys, all between his well-deserved naps.
Ideal Home
Max would do best in a home where he can be close to his people and have another dog companion. While he's a gentleman, he still needs some structure and guidance as he's a mature puppy. He thrives on activity and having a "job" to do, as boredom is his nemesis. A consistent schedule and his nap times are important to him. He also loves car rides, making him a fantastic travel buddy! He was previously returned because he played a bit too rough with chickens, so a home without them is a must.
Ongoing Health
Max is a healthy boy with no known medical issues! He is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, neutered, and had his rear dew claws removed. He has been exposed to various food proteins without any issues, and like most dogs, a consistent diet keeps his tummy happy. He eats twice a day and is not a picky eater.
Training & Support
Max is working on not jumping up to hug new friends, but he is learning! His food motivation makes him a great student for advanced training. He enjoys having a schedule and needs an active home to prevent boredom.
