She was rescued from a hoarding situation and, after a lengthy legal battle, found herself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Dalis to the Rescue stepped in at the last hour to give her a second chance. Despite her past hardships, Katie maintains a hopeful spirit and is eager to find a loving home.

Katie has Megaesophagus, a condition where her esophagus lacks the muscle tone to move food to her stomach. She manages this with a special routine involving medication and eating in an upright position. She has a custom "Bailey Chair" that helps gravity assist her digestion, and this chair will go home with her. Training on its use will be provided.
