About Liko
Liko's story began nearly two years ago when she, her mother, and her siblings were loaded into a crate and set aside to die. At just two weeks old, before she had even learned to walk properly, someone attempted to set the entire family on fire to get rid of them. They were babies. Tiny, helpless babies who should have known nothing but warmth, safety, and love. Instead, they were introduced to the worst of humanity before they were old enough to understand the world. Thankfully, they were rescued. Liko survived. She grew. She learned to trust. And when she was old enough, she was adopted into what we believed would be her forever home. Now, through no fault of her own, Liko is coming back to us. It's difficult not to think about how unfair that feels. A dog who survived such unimaginable cruelty should never have to wonder where she belongs. Yet here she is, once again searching for a family to call her own. And the hardest part? Liko is an incredible dog. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she decides you're safe, you have a best friend for life. The kind of friend who wants to spend her days by your side and her evenings curled up next to you after a long day of adventures. Liko is crate trained, potty trained, and exceptionally smart. She knows sit, stay, down, and place, walks beautifully on a leash, and is always eager to learn. She thrives when she has structure, activity, and people she can trust. She loves sunshine more than almost anything. If there is a sunny patch in the yard or a beam of sunlight coming through a window, you'll find Liko stretched out in it, completely content. She loves walks, hikes, splashing in a doggy pool, collecting sticks, and discovering little treasures outdoors. She's also wonderfully goofy. Her foster family affectionately calls her "Mayhem" because she has a talent for entertaining herself. She'll roll in mud puddles, sneak acorns into the house, chase her tail, flop dramatically onto the rug, and generally find creative ways to make everyone laugh. At the end of the day, though, her favorite place is beside her people. After a day of adventures, she'll settle in nearby and drift off into a deep sleep, snoring loudly enough to make everyone smile. Liko deserves so much more than another transition. She deserves permanence. She deserves a family that understands she may take a moment to trust, but once she does, she gives her whole heart. A family that will laugh at her muddy paws, cherish her sunny afternoon naps, and smile when they hear her snoring from across the room. Most of all, she deserves a family that will never make her wonder where she belongs again. After everything she survived as a tiny puppy, we desperately want Liko's next chapter to be her last one, the forever she has always deserved.
Ideal Home
Liko would do best as the only dog in her home. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, she loves hard and plays hard, and she truly thrives when she doesn't have to share her family. She is fine with cats and would likely do best with older children who can respect her space and enthusiasm.
Ongoing Health
No known health concerns.
