Meet Pumba! This handsome young fellow is large, athletic, and brimming with potential, though he's a bit on the shy side and needs a special someone to help him truly shine. Pumba is an independent and protective boy, and while those are great qualities, he needs a confident handler to guide him with positive reinforcement, showing him the ropes of home life. He's a smart pup who will benefit greatly from patience and training, which will not only teach him commands but also build his self-assurance. He qualifies for a 30-day foster-to-adopt period, with support available from his foster and the rescue trainer.
Ideal Home
Pumba would thrive in a home with an owner experienced with his breed and understanding of his unique needs. He'd do best in a working home and has shown himself to be safe with goats and horses. His socialization with other dogs has been limited, but he's currently doing very well with a large male Coon Hound in his foster home. Slow and careful introductions will be key if you have other canine companions. Cats and chickens have not been tested.
Ongoing Health
Pumba's adoption fee of $400 plus MN tax covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and any additional medical care he may have received while in our care.
Training & Support
Pumba needs consistent training and a structured environment to help him overcome his timidity and build confidence. Positive reinforcement and patience will be key to helping him succeed.

Transporation
Pumba is currently in a foster home. As we are a foster-based rescue and do not have a central facility, transportation arrangements will be discussed during the adoption process.
