Jackson is an affectionate, sweet, and shy dog who was found as a puppy in a desert den with his mom and seven siblings. As the runt of the litter, Jackson experienced early struggles with being bullied by his siblings and even his mother, which has shaped his fearful nature. He is gentle, but overwhelmed by unfamiliar people, doorways, and new environments. Jackson needs a calm, low-energy home and patient humans who understand that trust is built slowly. He cannot thrive in a busy, stimulating environment and feels safe with other sensitive dogs, like his friend Star. When Jackson trusts someone, his true heart shines through. He becomes playful and deeply loyal, enjoying calm walks, chewing bones, and peaceful one-on-one time. Your patience will genuinely save his life and transform his future.
Ideal Home
Jackson needs a quiet, predictable home with patient humans who understand that trust takes time to build. He is sensitive to noise and chaotic environments and feels safest in peaceful surroundings.
Ongoing Health
Jackson has no known health conditions.
Training & Support
Jackson is shy and hesitant at first and needs slow introductions and gentle handling. He has good house manners, is crate-trained, and leash-trained. While he can be a "project dog," the rewards of his trust are incredibly deep, gentle, and lifelong. We will support you throughout his transition and for as long as you and Jackson need us.
