Meet Cookie, your sweetest treat!
If you have a sweet tooth, we have a Cookie that we think you'll absolutely love! Cookie joined us in September as an owner surrender. Her story broke our hearts, but Cookie wasted no time putting them back together. Despite spending much of her life outdoors and away from consistent love, she immediately showed trust, resilience, and a gentle spirit. Over the past several months, Cookie has undergone multiple medical treatments, and through it all, she has remained patient, loving, and trusting. At 6 years old, she's a sweet, easygoing girl who enjoys attention, car rides, and simply being near her people. Cookie is truly a Sugar Cookie—sweet, gentle, and full of love. She gets so excited to see her people, loves rolling in the grass, and occasionally bursts into joyful zoomies like a tiny bucking horse. She coexists well with other dogs but is just as happy doing her own thing. While she's not overly cuddly, she'll lean in close, rest her head on you, and soak up affection when the mood strikes. Cookie has been through so much and deserves a home where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be loved every single day. If you're looking for a loyal, sweet companion with a little extra personality, Cookie might just be your perfect match.
Ideal Home
- A fenced-in yard
- Minimal stairs
- Someone home often
- Someone prepared for daily care (eye drops + facial/tail/paw cleaning are standard bulldog care but essential for Cookie)
- Older children (she loves teens but can get a little jumpy when excited)
- Another calm, non-possessive dog (slow introductions required, as Cookie can guard toys/food and may get pushy for attention)
Ongoing Health
- Cherry eye surgery (requires eye drops twice daily)
- Spayed, with removal of a low-grade mammary cancer (successfully removed; low risk of return)
- ACL tear (may need future treatment but currently mobile with activity management)
- History of skin infections & interdigital cysts (now improved; paws must be kept clean/dry)
Training & Support
Cookie walks nicely but can pull when excited and reacts strongly to other dogs. She may have occasional accidents, though these have greatly improved.
