I have not even considered another breed mainly because the dachshund has an amazing abundance of affection to give. If you are looking for a little dog that never tires of giving kisses and will adore you until its last breath then the dachshund is the dog for you. I live on ten wooded acres which allows my dogs to run and play chasing squirrels and lizards to their hearts content - under supervision of course.
