Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle girl who is as playful and spunky as they come! Our private vet believes she could be as young as 7 years old, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma lives for the ball! Her ideal day would consist of chasing the ball non-stop, with short breaks for napping. An adopter who wants to play fetch with her at least 4 times a day is required. Ball is life for this little girl!
Norma is wonderful with people, especially young children who are respectful around dogs. She lives with a 4-year-old human child and is all eyes for the kid, following him all over the house and playing ball together. She is very sweet but not a cuddler; she wants to play or be independent. If you're looking for a dog that will want to snuggle on your lap, Norma is not your girl. But if you're looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, Norma is just what you're looking for. She has a medium energy level and would enjoy going along for the ride, whether in your arms or a stroller, but once inside with a ball, it's game on! Norma has not exhibited any separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam freely. She is crate trained and never potties in her crate, which is always a great option when her human isn't home. She is great in the car and loves looking out the window. Norma lives with 3 other large dogs and coexists perfectly with them, acting as if they were not there. She would be fine living with another dog, but she does not like super energetic dogs that get in her space. Another laid-back dog would be great, but she would also be perfectly content as a solo dog! Overall, Norma is a wonderful, lively little pup looking for her BFF to do life with.
Ideal Home
An adopter who wants to play fetch with Norma at least 4 times a day is required. She enjoys the company of young, respectful children. She would do well with another laid-back dog or as a solo dog, but does not like high-energy dogs that get in her space.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane has successfully completed heartworm treatment with injections. She was not spayed prior to treatment due to its priority, but the rescue will work with the adopter on an appropriate spay date before she leaves.
Training & Support
Norma is still working on being 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will do her business outside. However, if you're not watching her and the door is closed, she might have an accident inside as she has not yet mastered signaling her humans that she needs to potty. She is crate trained and does not potty in her crate.
