Andrew

Andrew is a sweet 3-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who arrived with his brother, David, after a difficult start in life. Their former owner meant well but was unable to provide adequate care for all his animals. Andrew came to us completely unsocialized and had never even been on a leash, but he was never aggressive, just shy and submissive. He has shown a willingness to learn and has made great progress here at the shelter, but he's ready to take the next step in acclimating to a real home. Andrew needs an experienced, kind, and patient adopter who can help him continue to blossom and reach his full potential. He is a long-term project, and every small victory will be incredibly rewarding!

Ideal Home

Andrew needs an adopter who is experienced with shy and unsocialized dogs. He will require a securely fenced yard with at least a 5-foot fence to ensure his safety and prevent him from running if startled.

Ongoing Health

Andrew is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Andrew is still learning about the world and will need ongoing support to build his confidence. He has made great strides in leash walking and socialization at the shelter and will continue to benefit from positive reinforcement and a patient approach.
