Sandy is a charming female Staffordshire Terrier mix, approximately 2 years old and weighing around 33 lbs. She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, and had a very rough start to life. After being rescued, she faced a serious health scare due to complications during her spay surgery, which involved significant bleeding and a weakened state. Despite these challenges, Sandy showed incredible resilience and fought for her recovery. Now, she's ready for a loving home where she can continue to heal and thrive. She is incredibly grateful and will undoubtedly be a devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Sandy would do best in a home with families who have an open mind about the behaviors of rescued animals and understand their need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued dogs. A house with a fenced backyard and owners with the time and disposition to exercise her are essential.
Ongoing Health
Sandy has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, and has been dewormed. She tested negative for heartworm and is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Sandy is not house-trained. The rescue organization dedicates significant effort to rehabbing rescued pets physically and emotionally, but due to the sheer number of animals in foster care, they are unable to house-train each one. Potential adopters should be prepared to provide consistent training and patience.
