About Reese (ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED)

Reese is a stunning German Shepherd mix, weighing in at a healthy 76 pounds, born on February 5, 2022. He's had a tough start to life, having experienced abuse and neglect in his first two years. Despite this, Reese has shown incredible resilience and a big heart. He's now ready to move past his past and learn that not all people are bad. Reese is looking for a patient and understanding single woman to be his companion. A home with someone experienced with German Shepherds would be ideal, as it will take time to earn his trust. Reese can be fearful and defensive around unfamiliar people, especially men, but with proper management and slow introductions, he does very well. He has been thriving in his foster home, where he has formed a strong bond with his foster mom, proving that once he feels safe, he is loyal, loving, and deeply connected. Reese has made amazing progress, and with continued support, he will build strong relationships with his new person. He's a wonderful mix of energy and a couch potato, loving to play with other animals but also enjoying long naps on the couch, especially while watching Hallmark movies.

Ideal Home

Reese would thrive in a home with a single woman who has experience with German Shepherds and is willing to give him the time and patience he needs to decompress and build trust. He does not like men and may display aggressive behaviors towards them.

Ongoing Health

Reese is fully vetted and has no known medical or special needs.

Training & Support

Reese is crate trained and potty trained. He knows cues for his crate and can be crated when left alone. He is working on perfecting "heel" while walking and is not a fan of having his toes touched.
