Susie is a regal lady of about 4-5 years old, embodying kindness. She comes to us from a local shelter where, tragically, her friend could not be saved. Susie herself is quite thin and is heartworm positive, but we are committed to her treatment and helping her gain the 10 pounds she needs to reach a healthy weight. While her breed is unknown, her gentle nature and approximately 60-pound frame suggest she might be a Pyrenees mix, though she is likely a blend of many breeds. Susie is incredibly sweet and gentle, demonstrating an excellent temperament with other dogs and a non-confrontational attitude. She's friendly to everyone but still needs to build her confidence, as her past experiences haven't always been kind. Thankfully, Susie is a fast learner and forms strong bonds with those who show her kindness, clearly yearning for companionship. She's about to embark on the Paws in Prison program for 8 weeks, where she'll refine her already great manners, learn basic commands, and boost her confidence. We're eager to find a loving home for her to graduate into.

Ongoing Health
Susie is heartworm positive and will undergo treatment. She will be spayed, UTD on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Susie will be participating in the Paws in Prison program to further enhance her manners and confidence. She has great manners already and is a fast learner.

Transportation
Susie is currently located in Arkansas. She is available to adopters in Arkansas, and also to New England adopters with transport available. Adopters must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up Susie in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays.
