About Gracie Mae

Meet Gracie Mae! This sweet five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is a warm and cuddly companion ready to join your family. Weighing around 40 pounds, Gracie Mae has the curious spirit of a hound and a beautiful white and golden coat. She thrives on routine and enjoys a good game of fetch with her favorite stuffy toys and sturdy Benebones. When it's time to relax, she's a master snuggler, often nuzzling close as if sharing a special secret. Gracie Mae has experience in a busy household with children, including a neurodivergent child, and has shown remarkable patience and calm. She's comfortable around kids and enjoys being part of the family's rhythm. She has also lived successfully with another dog and is generally friendly towards people. Her experience with cats is limited, and her hound instincts might lead her to chase small animals, so careful introductions and supervision will be key. Gracie Mae knows commands like "sit" and responds well to positive reinforcement. She is crate-trained and can settle calmly during the day, but she's happiest when she can be with her people. While she's learned to potty outside and understands the "go potty" command, she's also accustomed to using pee pads indoors. She can feel uncertain with outdoor distractions and doesn't always signal when she needs to go out, preferring the comfort of her pee pads. With consistent, patient, and positive training, her routine can continue to improve. Gracie Mae can be a little unsure around delivery drivers or unfamiliar visitors, so gentle introductions will help her feel more at ease. She'd love a home where someone is around often to engage her with play, walks, and plenty of connection. She adapts well to new environments and people, even becoming a favorite at boarding facilities when her caregiver travels. Gracie Mae is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped, ready for her next loving chapter.

Ideal Home

Gracie Mae would thrive in a caring environment where someone is home much of the time. While she's done well with children and other dogs, her hound instincts may lead her to chase small animals, so careful introductions and guidance will be needed around cats and other small pets.
