Looking for a handsome cuddle bug with tons of potential? Meet Tank! This stunning three-year-old, 68.4lb white and brown pup is ready to trade his kennel for a savvy owner. Tank didn't get the best start in life, his past home lacked a secure yard and a strong leader, which led to him wandering the neighborhood. The shelter environment is currently taking a toll on him, and he's eager for a loving home. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up beautifully and loves to snuggle up close once he gets to know you. Tank is a strong dog who needs a confident, experienced owner capable of providing the clear boundaries he missed out on. He has incredible potential just waiting to be unlocked with the right guidance and a loving home.
Ideal Home
Tank needs a home with a strong, confident leader who can provide clear boundaries. Due to his background and potential prey drive, Tank cannot live with small dogs or cats. He does well with some dogs but is selective about his friends, preferring a rough and rowdy playstyle once he is comfortable. A secure yard is a must for Tank.
Ongoing Health
Tank is a healthy 3-year-old pup.
Training & Support
Tank needs an experienced owner who can provide consistent leadership and clear boundaries. He can initially show an assertive, stiff, and sometimes defensive management style in playgroups, but he is highly steerable and respects corrections from other dogs. Tank may display chasing behaviors or pull toward small animals while on walks, so a confident, strong handler is recommended for safe management. He has a history of escaping enclosed spaces or roaming when unsupervised, so containment and supervision are crucial. It's important to note that Tank has begun to decline behaviorally in the shelter environment due to stress, so he will need time and patience to decompress and readjust to life outside the shelter.
