Meet Juice, a charming and affectionate 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with the most soulful eyes you'll ever see. Juice, also known as Joey to his foster family, is a sensitive soul who has been through a lot and is now dreaming of a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and be cherished. He absolutely adores his toys and will happily spend hours playing, but his favorite pastime is quietly snuggling with his favorite person, often resting his head and paw on your arm – a true sign of his love language. While he can be a bit shy and wary around new people, gentle and slow introductions will help him build trust, and once he does, you'll be rewarded with unwavering loyalty and devotion.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with soft-spoken, patient adults who understand that healing takes time. He's looking for a home where he can be the only pet, as he prefers his space around unfamiliar dogs and is not cat-friendly.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but with stability and routine, he's made great progress and now eats separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which can be easily managed by respecting his boundaries. He has had some potty accidents and is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this, responding best to patience and kindness. Harsh corrections can cause him to cower, so positive reinforcement is key. He sleeps well in his crate through the night and, while he does great in the car, he might need a little assistance getting in.
