Josie the mostie

Josie is a sweet and loving companion for the whole family! This 41 lb Staffordshire Terrier mix, with an estimated birthday of 10/26/23, is the perfect cuddle buddy for any occasion. She loves playing with her toys, snuggling with her foster siblings, sunbathing, and is motivated by chicken nuggets! Josie lives in a foster home with children and does wonderfully with them. She has seamlessly acclimated to her foster family and is potty trained, great on the leash, and knows commands like "sit" and "stay." Being very treat-motivated, she is eager to learn, obey, and be part of your pack! Josie does wonderfully well with other dogs, especially playful ones. Snuggling up on the couch is one of her favorite activities, and she's quick to catch a snooze there. She's good sleeping on the couch or going for long walks. Although when she's fully rested, her absolute favorite activity is going on car rides, and she gets them often as she is a perfect car-riding companion! Josie was rescued from the county shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding. She ended up at the shelter as a neglect case, emaciated and clearly having had a rough start. She has come a long way since then and is still working on gaining a little more weight, but she is ready to find her forever home.

Josie is kennel and potty trained, great on the leash, and knows commands such as sit and stay. She is treat-motivated and eager to learn.

• Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog.
• Listed breed is based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff.
• Adopters are eligible to receive discounts on training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training.

Transportation

Josie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and can be arranged to your state or a neighboring state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360 and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. You must be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
