Belky is a 3-year-old, 9kg Pembroke Corgi with a beautiful red and white coat and short legs. She has a sweet, expressive face and a gentle demeanor. Belky can be curious yet cautious, taking her time to get to know new people and environments. Once comfortable, she is affectionate and loves to share kisses with those she trusts. Her name, inspired by a character from a Netflix series, reflects her resilient spirit as she overcomes challenges and embraces a brighter future. Belky was rescued from a commercial breeding operation and has made tremendous progress in learning to trust and feel safe in the world. With love, patience, and tasty treats, she continues to grow more confident every day.
Ideal Home
Belky would do well in a variety of home settings, including an apartment, townhouse, or detached home. A smaller apartment or condo setting would suit her, and she would love a home with a yard to explore. She thrives in a calm environment and needs a family who understands her evolving journey and can advocate for her as she navigates the world. Due to her timid nature and potential flight risk, an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens who understand respectful interaction is best. Everyone in the household must be diligent about keeping doors and gates closed.

Belky has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations. She is otherwise medically up to date.
Training & Support
Belky is fully house-trained and crate-trained, viewing her crate as a safe and comfortable space. She walks beautifully on leash and is working on feeling more comfortable around unfamiliar people on walks. Belky does well with other dogs, is curious about them, and enjoys their company, suggesting she may benefit from a confident male dog in the home. She is not recommended for a home with another female dog, though she could have female dog friends. Her behavior around cats is currently unknown. Belky can be sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements, so a calm, predictable environment is important.
