ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Abby's story began with heartbreak and uncertainty. She and her brother, Nick, were left behind when their owner never returned for them. After being surrendered to one of our rural shelter partners, Abby made her way to Homeward Trails, where she is finally getting the chance to learn what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family.
At first glance, Abby may seem like a quiet, shy Beagle who prefers to stay in the background. But spend a little time with her, and you'll discover the delightful personality waiting just beneath the surface. While she's still learning to navigate the sights and sounds of a busy suburban world, Abby is growing more confident every day with the support of her foster family and canine foster siblings.
One of Abby's most endearing qualities is the silly side she reveals when she feels comfortable. Her foster mom reports that Abby loves to roll around on the floor and can often be found lounging in the funniest positions or tucked into unexpected spots around the house. Those little glimpses of joy are a reminder that beneath her cautious exterior is a happy, playful dog just waiting to blossom.
Abby has lived with other dogs before and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion who can continue to show her that the world isn't so scary. She takes comfort in following the lead of her dog friends and gains confidence from their example.
The family who adopts Abby won't just be giving her a home-they'll be giving her the chance to leave her uncertain past behind and finally experience the stability and love every dog deserves.
