Belmont is a 10-month-old puppy whose breed mix is a mystery, but she's at least 50% sweetness and 50% delightful chaos. She loves a good backyard zoomie session and is currently studying the fine art of walking on a leash. Adventures are exciting, the world is full of interesting smells, and Belmont is determined to investigate them all. Like most puppies, she occasionally forgets where her feet are and may bump into things (or you). Spatial awareness is a work in progress. Belmont can be a little timid in new situations, but she warms up to people fairly quickly, especially if they come bearing treats or kind words. When playtime is over, Belmont’s favorite hobby is full-contact cuddling. Personal space is optional for you, not always for her. If you’re sitting down, she’s likely finding her way into your lap. If there’s a cozy spot nearby, she’s making it a shared experience. She enjoys playing but also appreciates having her own space to relax and recharge after adventures. She’s the perfect mix of independent queen and affectionate sidekick. She sleeps well in her crate as long as her people are nearby, and she has a healthy appetite, especially when treats are involved. Belmont is very treat-motivated, which makes training both easier and more entertaining. She has been around kids and is very curious about them, though she can be a bit nervous at first. With gentle introductions and patience, she’ll continue to build confidence. If you’re looking for a silly, affectionate puppy who will keep you laughing, respect her boundaries (most of the time), and reward you with the very best snuggles once she trusts you, Belmont may be your girl. Warning: adopting Belmont may result in spontaneous laughter, surprise snuggles, and earning the exclusive privilege of full-contact cuddle sessions. Belmont is currently enrolled in the 12-week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections and will graduate around August 15th.
