Rex is a joyful, playful, and energetic Cattle Dog mix who is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 35 lbs. He was rescued as a young puppy and has spent his life waiting for a family to call his own. Rex is sweet and enjoys being near his people, though he isn't overly clingy. He has a fun personality and is always ready for adventure, whether it's running, hiking, or just exploring. Rex is very social and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people. He's intelligent and eager to learn, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained. Rex is looking for an active and loving family to share his life with.
Ideal Home
Rex would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, where he can enjoy daily walks and hikes. He needs a family that is patient and understanding of a rescue animal's needs for structure, education, and time to show their true personality. Ideally, his new family will have experience with dog behavior and training.
Ongoing Health
Rex has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet, and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Rex is not yet house-trained, and his new family should be prepared to work on this with patience and consistency. His foster family notes that it's impossible for them to house-train every dog due to the number of animals they care for. He will need a family willing to give him at least three months to decompress and show his best personality.
