Malouk

Meet Malouk! This distinguished gentleman is a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of gentle love and a soul ready to offer quiet companionship. Malouk came to us after his person sadly passed away, and he then spent about a year not receiving the dedicated care he deserved. Now, he's ready to embark on a new chapter, seeking a forever home where he can be cherished and truly cared for.

Despite being blind, Malouk navigates the world with remarkable resilience. His favorite pastimes include leisurely walks, long naps, and indulging in delicious treats (he’s a big fan!). Occasionally, a playful spark ignites, reminding us of the joy he still finds in life.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly content as the sole cherished pet, but he also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his unique needs.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, and this can sometimes lead to anxiety. He manages very well with calming medication and benefits greatly from a consistent and predictable environment.

Training & Support

Malouk is house-trained, though occasional marking may occur (he was recently neutered). Belly bands have proven to be a simple and effective solution. He will also need continued leash training as he can pull, particularly when excited or feeling uncertain. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while left alone.

Transportation

Malouk is currently located in Texas. We are able to coordinate safe transport for him to approved adopters, whether they are local or out-of-state. We also offer video meet-and-greets to help ensure a perfect match!
