Ivy (URGENT)

Meet Ivy! Ivy is a gentle soul who can be a bit shy in loud, busy environments like the shelter. She's a 2-year-old, approximately 63–65 lb Pit Bull–type/Retriever mix who is fully grown. Despite her initial timidity, Ivy is incredibly sweet and affectionate once she feels safe. She was found as a stray in Texas and has been waiting for her chance to shine. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, and her foster family reported she was a perfect house guest! Ivy is looking for a patient adopter who can help her build confidence and learn to navigate the world at her own pace. She's not asking for a high-energy life, but rather a calm, structured, and loving home where she can feel secure.

Ideal Home

Ivy would thrive in a calm, structured, and quiet environment, ideally with a fenced yard for safe exploration. She may do best with older, patient children who can respect her gentle and shy nature. A peaceful setting, rather than a busy city, would help her feel most secure.

Ongoing Health

Ivy is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. She is healthy and ready for her new beginning.

Training & Support

Ivy is still building her confidence and will benefit from continued guidance with basics like house training, leash skills, and adjusting to life in a home. She may need a little encouragement for walks, but she is a quick learner and will grow braver with each step. A confident canine companion could also be beneficial for her.
