Cricket and Mochi are a bonded pair of sweet, gentle, and loving girls who have overcome so much and are finally ready for a forever home – together.
Meet Cricket
Cricket is an 8+ year old, 13 lb Chihuahua with a gentle and sensitive soul. She arrived with a large hernia and a damaged eye, both of which have now been successfully treated, and she is finally living pain-free. Cricket is shy at first, but once she trusts you, she melts into soft affection and belly rubs. She leans on her bonded companion, Mochi, for confidence, and their bond is truly something special. Cricket loves bully sticks and prefers shredded chicken mixed with her kibble.
Meet Mochi
Mochi is a 7+ year old, 14 lb Wire-Haired Terrier Mix with a calm, affectionate, and loyal demeanor. She may have a permanently grumpy little face, but underneath that is a confident cuddle bug who quietly watches over Cricket. Mochi had several masses removed, all benign, and while she may develop more in the future, she is currently happy and feeling great. She also has a heart murmur and is on medication, but is asymptomatic. Mochi loves frozen Kongs and is great on leash.
Ideal Home
These girls are looking for a calm, stable home where they can continue to thrive together. They require a fenced yard and are not suited for apartment living, as Cricket is still building leash confidence. Ideally, they would do best in a home without small children. They are good with dog-friendly, calm, and respectful dogs. They are crate-trained and about 90% housebroken, though Mochi seems to be a bit slower to catch on.
Ongoing Health
Mochi has a heart murmur for which she is on medication, though she is currently asymptomatic. She also had several masses removed, all of which were benign. It's possible she may develop more in the future. Cricket had a large hernia and a damaged eye, both of which have been treated.
Training & Support
Cricket is still building leash confidence and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement. Mochi is still working on her house-training.
