Sentry is a happy-go-lucky 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. His mom, Wanda, weighs approximately 55 pounds, and a photo of her is included in his profile. Sentry was rescued with his mom and siblings from a rural dumping area and has thrived in his foster home, growing up loved and cared for. He wakes up every day with a joyful spirit, eager for cuddles, play, and walks. Sentry loves people, other dogs, and life itself, bringing joy wherever he goes with his goofy, affectionate, and playful nature. He's a confident and outgoing puppy who loves to make new friends and be included in all activities. Sentry has been raised with his littermates and mother and enjoys playing with other dogs. He has done well around children and is continuing to learn leash skills and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners and building his confidence as he matures. Due to his age and need for continued socialization, we prefer homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time. He would thrive with a resident dog who can help mentor and guide him in appropriate play and communication, as we prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog. If you don't currently have a dog, please provide a proactive plan for continued socialization, such as training classes, playdates, or supervised daycare.
Ongoing Health
Sentry is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience, and he is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. We love seeing our young dogs grow up with a well-adjusted canine role model in the home. A resident dog can help teach appropriate play, communication, and boundaries in ways humans simply can't replicate, so we prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry.
