Himari is a sweet and affectionate 10-month-old female terrier mix who is about 22 lbs and expected to grow to around 33 lbs. She was born at the shelter to a rescued mother and is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico. Himari is a playful and loving girl who enjoys running and playing with her doggy friends. She is still learning to trust new people and can be a bit shy and nervous initially, but with patience and understanding, she blossoms into a devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Himari would thrive in a home that understands the unique needs of rescue animals. She needs a family with open hearts and minds, willing to provide her with the protection and education she deserves. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly beneficial, as is a high tolerance for patience. She needs a family that recognizes that rescue dogs may have experienced trauma and will require an adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Himari has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She is microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. She also receives monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.
Training & Support
It's important to understand that Himari is not house-trained. Rescued animals often come with unique needs, and while the shelter works hard to provide a foundation, individual house-training requires dedicated effort from the adopter. Patience and consistency will be key to her success.
