Okinawa is a sweet and devoted one-year-old who is still showing some puppy tendencies. He's a calm, affectionate, and easygoing companion who quickly bonds with his person and loves to stay close. Okinawa is a total cuddlebug who enjoys lounging in your lap. He is good with other dogs and will need some time to get used to them before he wants to play. He keeps a clean crate and walks well on a leash if given time to adapt to his surroundings. Okinawa can be vocal when he is playing neighborhood watch and is doing great with potty training. He is a flight risk and will need a secure home and careful handling when outside.
Ideal Home
Okinawa needs a patient, loving family who can provide consistent structure, positive feedback, safety, and security. He is best suited for an experienced, adult home that understands fearful dog behavior and management. He may become fearful in the home with new or unfamiliar people and startles easily, possibly reacting by barking or attempting to nip when scared. Very slow, structured introductions to new people entering the home are essential.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Okinawa can be stubborn and needs consistent boundaries, correction, and positive reinforcement. He benefits from patient handling, confidence-building, and continued socialization.
