Mavis

Mavis is a 2-year-old, spayed female Shepherd mix who weighs around 55 pounds. She’s a gentle, easygoing sweetheart who arrived at an elementary school and was cared for by a teacher until a rescue could help her find a foster home. She has been thriving ever since and is now ready to find her forever family!

Ideal Home

Mavis would do well in a variety of homes, with or without other dogs. A cat-free home is recommended due to her prey drive. She thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would appreciate a home where she can feel secure and loved.

Ongoing Health

Mavis has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Mavis is house-trained, crate-trained, and has great manners when left alone. She walks beautifully on leash and is easily redirected. She may startle if approached suddenly from behind, so a calm environment is best. She knows how to sit and is eager to continue learning. While she isn’t particularly interested in toys yet, she loves treats and showing off her learned skills.

Mavis is currently in Houston, Texas. Transport is included in the adoption donation and will be arranged on the next available transport once an adopter is matched.
