About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup with a heart full of love! At 3-4 months old and weighing 7 lbs, she's expected to reach around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate and adores her humans, always curious to explore new things. She's a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and furry friends. Her adaptable personality makes her a great companion for an active family or someone looking for a laid-back cuddle buddy. Whether she's playing with her foster siblings, chasing toys in the yard, or relaxing on the couch, Annie is always happy as long as she's with her people. She's also great at entertaining herself, keeping busy with her toys or napping contentedly.
Ideal Home
Annie would thrive in a home where she can be included in daily life and receive plenty of love, exercise, and attention. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to play and explore. She'd love a home with another playful dog and children to play with, but she would also be happy as the sole focus of affection. While she enjoys adventures and outings, public dog parks are not recommended for her safety. She would benefit from a family that works from home or has a hybrid schedule, or can arrange for a dog walker or daycare if longer workdays are anticipated.
Ongoing Health
Annie is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel and potty trained and is beginning leash training. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling the back door. A doggy doorbell is recommended to help her learn this skill. She will need a consistent schedule initially and to be taken out every few hours until she adjusts to her new environment. As she is starting to teethe, her new family will need to supervise her to prevent her from chewing on inappropriate items. She can be wiggly when excited and picked up, so supervision with very young children is advised.
