Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is smart, loyal, and affectionate. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest when he feels included and secure. Dex loves to play, especially tug of war and catch, and he gets along well with dogs of all sizes. He's incredibly intuitive and backs off immediately if another dog isn't interested in playing, showing he's patient, respectful, and thoughtful. Dex is also excellent on leash, walking calmly without pulling and showing no reactivity to other dogs. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training, enjoying structure and having a job to do. Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night, and he does well when left out in the house without destructive behaviors once his energy needs are met. Once bonded, Dex is incredibly loving and affectionate with his people, enjoying cuddles and showing his loyalty.
Ideal Home
Dex would thrive in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. He is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals due to a strong prey drive. He would also do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can take time to warm up to new people and may growl when unsure.
