About Monika

Monika is a sweet, approximately 1-year-old female Labrador mix who weighs around 26 lbs. She was rescued in March 2024 from the streets of Saltillo, Mexico, along with her mother and siblings. Initially shy and fearful, Monika has blossomed with love and patience, transforming into a playful, funny, and very food-motivated pup! She is crate-trained and doing wonderfully with socializing with other dogs and people. Monika is a noble and submissive girl who needs a little time to build trust, but her affectionate nature shines through once she feels secure.

Ideal Home

  • A family willing to give a rescued pet at least 3 months to show their true personality.
  • A home with a fenced backyard.
  • An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking.
  • A family with an understanding of the needs of rescued street animals and a commitment to providing protection and education.
  • Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred.
  • High tolerance and patience for rescued pups.

Ongoing Health

Monika has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including:

  • Spay/Neuter Certificate
  • 2 DHPPI Vaccine shots
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Bordetella Vaccine
  • Deworming
  • 4DX Test and Certificate
  • Heartworm test Negative Certificate
  • Monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive (fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
  • Health Certificate
  • Vaccines booklet

Please note: Monika is not yet house-trained.

Training & Support

Monika is not house-trained. She is a bit shy, reserved, and cautious, requiring patience and love to build trust. Her rescuers are unable to house-train every rescued pet due to the high number of animals in their care.
