About Bailey-Sue

Bailey-Sue is a 4-year-old, 57lb spayed female pittie mix who is playful, affectionate, and brave. She came to us from the Houston shelter after surviving physical abuse, and though it took months for her to trust again, her resilience and gentle spirit now shine through. She just needs a patient, loving home willing to let her open up at her own pace – once she does, she's pure love. Bailey loves to play with other dogs but takes things slow when meeting new friends, doing best with dogs around 30-80 lbs. She absolutely adores kids and currently lives with children ranging from 3 to 17 years old, and she is gentle, patient, and happiest when surrounded by her family. Bailey is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night. She has never shown any food or toy guarding toward people. When it comes to leash walking, Bailey does best when she's had a little time to burn off energy first. Once settled, she walks nicely without pulling. Her energy level is medium to medium-low. She loves chew toys, car rides, and spending time with her people. When meeting strangers, she can be cautious at first, but once she warms up, her tail wags nonstop. Because of her past, Bailey needs a home that understands she may take time to feel safe and confident. With love, patience, and structure, Bailey blossoms into the loyal, trusting companion she was always meant to be.

Ideal Home

A patient, loving home where she can open up at her own pace. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would do well with a calm male dog who can match her energy and help her feel confident. Slow introductions to new dogs are key.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions mentioned. She is spayed.

Training & Support

Bailey is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She needs continued leash work to help her be her best self when walking. She can be cautious and may bark or seem unsure around new people or dogs due to past fear, not aggression.
