Benson

Meet Benson, a sweet and quiet gentleman who has overcome a challenging start to life. After being found as a stray in Texas and injured by a car, Benson underwent a leg amputation and has since learned that humans can bring good things, like treats and comfort. He gets along well with other dogs and is indifferent to cats. Benson is already potty trained, enjoys car rides, and is a perfect gentleman during vet visits and handling.

True to his Great Pyrenees heritage, Benson is more of an observer than a clingy companion. He's happiest simply being in the same room, keeping an eye on things, and enjoying your presence without demanding constant attention. He’s a lower-energy guy who prefers a peaceful life over grand adventures, seeking a soft place to sleep and a calm environment.

Ideal Home

Benson would thrive in a calm, low-traffic home. Children over 12 who understand and respect a dog's boundaries would be a good fit. Loud or boisterous children would likely be overwhelming for him. A home with minimal stairs is preferred to ensure his long-term comfort as a tripod, though he navigates his world quite well.

Benson is potty trained. As he's a dog who prefers his independence, he may not be the best fit for someone looking for a dog to be attached to their hip every second.
