About Oakley
Meet Oakley! Oakley is a beautiful, affectionate girl looking for the right forever home where she can truly shine. At approximately 5.5 years old and weighing around 50 pounds, Oakley is a wonderful mix of playful energy and loyal companionship. This sweet girl absolutely loves her people and thrives on affection. She enjoys being pet, spending quality time with her humans, and being included in daily life. Once Oakley bonds with you, her loyalty runs deep — she's the kind of dog who wants to be right by your side. Oakley's favorite activities include playing fetch (she's a big fan of a two-ball system!), tug-of-war, and long walks outdoors. She walks nicely on a leash and loves soaking up time outside, whether she's exploring or simply relaxing near her favorite person. Oakley is house-trained and up to date on all of her vaccinations, and recently had her vet care updated. She does well with toys and happily shares them, even giving them up to smaller dogs at times. Indoors, she currently lives successfully with a smaller dog and enjoys companionship, though she likes to remind everyone she's the boss. Oakley can be a little anxious in busy or noisy environments, and small children make her nervous, so she is seeking an adult-only home with no kids where she can feel safe and comfortable. She may bark when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and often gets excited for pets and attention (sometimes enthusiastically enough to jump up and say hello!). While Oakley has done well with one smaller dog in the home, introductions to new dogs should be slow and thoughtful. She can be reactive to other dogs on walks at times, especially if excitement is high around her. She also guards her food from other animals, so feeding separately is important. As for cats, Oakley has lived around them and has not shown aggression, but because she tends to chase and can be a bit jealous for attention, a cat-free home may be best. Oakley would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can be loved for exactly who she is — a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who just wants to feel secure and adored. She may do best as the only pet or with a dog-savvy home willing to give her time to adjust. If you're looking for a devoted best friend to share walks, playtime, and cuddles with, Oakley might be your perfect match!
