About Polly
Meet Polly, a delightful 38lb Cattle Dog Retriever mix who embodies the spirit of a perpetual puppy with an incredibly sweet personality. She's spayed, vaccinated, and fully up-to-date on all her preventatives, making her ready to embark on her journey to a loving forever home. Polly has a gentle, go-with-the-flow nature and adores being a part of whatever her humans are up to.
Polly is a true puppy at heart! She absolutely revels in playing with toys, enjoys the company of other dogs, and has a wonderfully bouncy, happy energy when it's time for fun. If another dog invites her to play, Polly is always eager to join the fun. She has also been introduced to children aged 6 and up and has done very well with them. We do not have information on her compatibility with cats.
While Polly enjoys playtime, she's actually a fairly low-energy dog overall. She's just as content to relax and cuddle as she is to enthusiastically toss around a toy. She's affectionate, loves to snuggle, and thrives on being close to her people. She can be a little shy when first meeting new individuals, but she warms up quickly once she feels safe and secure.
Polly exhibits excellent house manners in many ways – she is fully house-trained and crate-trained for up to six hours. She travels well in the car and has no issues with resource guarding or food aggression. She is currently working on her leash manners and may pull at times, but due to her smaller size, she is easy to manage as she continues to learn.
Like many young dogs, Polly is still learning the ropes of home life and will benefit from a patient adopter who is willing to continue guiding her. Because she can sometimes get into things if left unsupervised, she should be crated when left alone. With consistency and a predictable routine, she will undoubtedly continue to blossom.
Polly is a truly lovely dog who will thrive in almost any home environment. Whether you're a family, a couple, or someone seeking a loyal companion, Polly has an abundance of love to give. With a little time to adjust to a new routine, she will undoubtedly become a wonderful and devoted best friend.
