Cleo is a approximately 4-year-old, 30 lb. female Labrador mix who was rescued in November 2023. She was found in the street with a leg fracture, but after receiving veterinary care, her bone healed well. While she walks a little crooked, she has no special needs and is a loving, grateful, and calm companion. She enjoys car rides, walks on a leash, and is crate trained. Cleo is shy and takes a little time to warm up, but she's happy to be alive and eager to find her forever home.
Ideal Home
Cleo would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard. Her ideal family is active and enjoys daily walks or hiking. Adopters should have an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals and be willing to provide protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, as is high tolerance and patience for rescued pets. Adopters should be willing to wait at least three months for Cleo to show her best personality.
Ongoing Health
Cleo's leg healed from a fracture and she walks with a slight crookedness, but this does not require special care. She is spayed, up-to-date on DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are available.
Training & Support
Cleo is house-trained, but adopters should be aware that it is an impossible job to house-train each foster pet due to the sheer number of animals. She is leash and crate trained and good in the car. Her shyness means she may need time to adjust and build confidence in her new environment.

- A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged with you, Cleo, and her foster parent.
- If all parties agree it's a good match, an adoption contract and trial period will be initiated.
Transportation
Cleo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country transport. Transport to the adopter's home address is available. The transport fee is $400.00 and is the responsibility of the adopter, to be paid prior to the pet's departure.
