Romeo

Romeo is a young, energetic boy with a nose for adventure! This handsome mix of beagle and likely bluetick coonhound was found making a dash for it in a West Virginia parking lot, and we think "Romeo" suits him perfectly. He's a big fan of balls, chew toys, long walks, and, of course, sniffing out every interesting scent. Romeo is already a pro at sitting and is learning to come when called. He's also mastered potty training and has had no accidents in the house during his stay with us! While he's still getting used to his crate overnight, his true wish is to be by your side, as he gets sad when left alone. He's a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with all humans and dogs in his foster home and completely ignores the resident cat. On walks, Romeo's inner hound comes alive as he'd love to chase small, scampering things. He also has some strong opinions about trucks, buses, motorcycles, joggers, and other dogs, often vocalizing his excitement, but he has shown no signs of aggression. At home, he's a calm, sweet, and gentle companion, and it's a joy to watch him follow his nose with his head down, fully immersed in his scent investigations.

Ideal Home

Romeo thrives with humans he can be with all the time. He gets sad when left alone, so a home where he can be your constant companion would be ideal. He also has a strong instinct to chase, so a yard where he can safely explore his scents would be wonderful.

Ongoing Health

Romeo is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Romeo is learning to sit and come when called. He appears to be potty trained. He vocalizes on walks when he sees things that catch his interest, but this is excitement and not aggression. Continue to work on his leash manners and positive reinforcement for his training goals.
