Meet Chanel, a resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix with a heart of gold. She bravely survived a tough start after being abandoned and found herself on a euthanasia list at a shelter in New Mexico. Thankfully, she was brought to Texas, where she's blossomed into a happy, energetic dog who even donates blood to help other animals in need! While her journey has been incredible, she's still learning and growing.
Ideal Home
Chanel is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help her rebuild her trust. She would do best with a canine companion to show her the ropes and a home where she can take things at her own pace. She enjoys soft squeaky toys but can be easily startled by loud noises and is still learning how to play with them. It’s important that her new home is a gentle environment where she feels truly safe, as she can be flinchy if hands reach toward her too quickly.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is in good health and has been fully vetted, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping.
Training & Support
Chanel is working through some past trauma and can be a bit flinchy. She will need continued gentle guidance and patience to help her build confidence and learn to trust. Understanding that she is a rescue dog and providing consistent, positive reinforcement will set her up for success.

Transportation
Chanel is currently located in Texas. Transportation is available to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, LA. AZ transport is coming soon. Pick-up at our Angleton, Texas location is also an option. Our transport system uses air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Adopters can follow their pet's journey on a private Facebook event page with updates and communication along the way. Our Adoption Coordinator will help find the closest transport pick-up location. The adoption and transportation fee ranges from $100-500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request, with the adopting family being financially responsible. For Texas adopters, there is a flat rate fee of $250 for transportation within the state. For pick-up at our Angleton, Tx location, the fee is $75 and includes all vetting.
