Milky Way

Milky Way is a charming Chihuahua boy, about 8.6 lbs, born on January 10, 2026. He's a playful, happy, and social pup who loves to run and be part of the action. Milky Way is generally quiet and not a big barker, letting his sweet personality shine through. He sleeps comfortably in an open crate at night, using it as his personal safe space. Like many young dogs, he's curious and enjoys chewing, so he'll need patience and guidance as he continues to grow.

Milky Way's journey began with some challenges. He and his siblings were born into a situation where their care eventually became a burden, leading to uncertainty about their basic needs. Thankfully, they were rescued and given a second chance. Now, Milky Way is safe, loved, and eagerly searching for a forever family to shower with his endless devotion.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard is preferred. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine intention to rescue a dog is ideal. We are looking for families with an open mind regarding the behaviors of rescued animals and who have experience with dog behavior and training, or are willing to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Milky Way has received the following health treatments: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI Vaccines, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, Deworming, Microchip, 4DX Test and Certificate, Negative Heartworm Test Certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. He also has a Health Certificate and a Vaccines booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences and may need time to adapt to new environments and people.

Training & Support

Milky Way is not house-trained. Like most young dogs, he is curious and enjoys chewing, so he will need patience and guidance as he matures. Families should be prepared to work with a trainer if needed, as he is an intelligent dog. Patience and understanding are crucial for a successful transition.

• You will need to fill out our adoption form.
• Photos and videos of your home are required to ensure a safe environment for your future furry friend.
• If it's a potential match, we will arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will also speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.

Transportation

Milky Way is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery, with scheduled trips 3-4 times a year, requiring a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company will escort pets across the border into Texas for US adoptions, or to the US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions, with all necessary legal documents and health certificates. Real-time updates will be provided via a private Facebook Messenger group. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers the cost from Mexico to your doorstep.
