Hi, I'm Beverly! It's a pleasure to meet you! I arrived at Throw Away Rescue a couple of years ago with my litter of puppies. The rescue lady, Teri, found us, and I was initially worried she'd only take my pups. But I knew my puppies needed me, so I made sure she took me along too! All of my puppies have found their forever homes, except for Half Pint, who looks just like me! Half Pint and I have been waiting at the rescue for someone to adopt us.
Because I've been at Throw Away Rescue for an extended period, Teri sometimes places me in a separate yard with newly arrived dogs. She says I'm excellent at helping them adjust because I get along well with other dogs. I understand it can be frightening to arrive in a new place alone. However, since Teri rescued me and my puppies, I know it's safe here, and I want to help new dogs feel secure too! While I enjoy assisting new dogs, the older I get, the more I dream of a forever home and a family of my own!
Did you know that black dogs often have a lower chance of being adopted compared to dogs of other colors? Additionally, Pitbulls are frequently surrendered and are among the last to be adopted. In my case, even though I'm considered a Lab Mix, I'm still overlooked because I resemble a pitbull and have a black coat. If people took the time to get to know me, they would discover that I am incredibly sweet, loving, protective, and playful. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, I adore children, and receiving attention from my human friends is my absolute favorite! Sometimes I have bursts of energy and get the zoomies, and other times I prefer to relax like a couch potato. I would make a fantastic companion for anyone willing to take a chance on me!
