Kai

My name is Kai, and while my name means "ocean" in Hawaiian, it also signifies happiness in Chinese and rejoice in Finnish! I've been with Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue (AGPR) since 2018. My previous owner was moving frequently and asked AGPR to find me a loving home. It's been a while, but I've made many friends here and even have a job: I keep an eye on the chickens and ducks near my run. I've also had the pleasure of teaching a shy Pyr buddy how to trust people.

I can be a little shy and nervous when I first meet someone, but once I trust you, I'm a big hugger and lovebug! I enjoy leisurely walks in the woods, exploring all the wonders nature has to offer. Plus, my markings are as beautiful as I am, inside and out. I do consider AGPR my forever home and am treated like royalty. I wanted to be listed so you know how wonderfully I'm being cared for and will continue to be as long as donations allow.

Ideal Home

A fenced-in backyard is a must for any Great Pyrenees, and I'm no exception!
