Lena

Lena is an approximately 5-year-old, 55-pound Border Collie/Pit Mix who arrived at a local municipal shelter as a stray in October. She was initially very fearful, but a wonderful person stepped up to give her a second chance. Lena is an active, smart, sweet, and high-energy dog who has recently completed training at Rise & Shine K9. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and good with adults, teenagers, strangers, and other dogs. She would do best with children over 16 and would prefer a home with another dog. Lena enjoys puzzles and active toys and loves the beach and chasing balls, though she doesn't always bring them back. She is easy to train and takes treats very gently. Lena has excellent house manners, doesn't chew inappropriate items, willingly goes into her crate, and stays where she is told without gates. Despite a rough start as a stray, she has emerged affectionate, funny, and very loveable.

Ideal Home

Lena would thrive in a home with another dog and someone who works from home or is not away all day. She could also accompany her person to work. She prefers meeting people slowly and dislikes crowds.
