Willa

Meet Willa! This 3-year-old spayed female Plot Hound mix, weighing around 60 pounds, is searching for the patient, loving forever home she truly deserves. Willa was found as a stray while sadly pregnant. She lovingly raised her puppies, and now that most of them have found homes, it's finally Willa's turn to be spoiled and loved!

Willa can be a little shy and slow to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she becomes the biggest love bug! She is incredibly sweet, quiet, and gentle in the home. She does well with other dogs and mostly ignores cats.

Ideal Home

Willa would do best with older children who understand how to give her space and patience. Because she is still learning that leashes are safe, she will require a securely fenced yard to help keep her comfortable and safe while she continues to build confidence.

Ongoing Health

Due to a suspected history of neglect, Willa unfortunately tested positive for heartworm disease. The rescue will fully cover the cost of her heartworm treatment, but she is looking for a foster-to-adopt home willing to bring her to a vet clinic in Plymouth for her treatment appointments.

Training & Support

Willa is potty trained but is not a fan of crates.
