Ernie is a charming 8-year-old, 63lb Pittie/Cattle Dog mix who was found as a stray and is now looking for his forever family. He's a chill, goofy gentleman who enjoys walks and playtime but is also happy to relax by your side. Ernie is incredibly social and has gotten along wonderfully with every human and animal he's met. He's playful and gentle with other dogs, even letting his smaller foster sibling boss him around. While he hasn't formally met a cat, he shows interest without aggression and is likely to be fine with cats that are comfortable with his friendly curiosity. Ernie hasn't been around children, but his gentle nature suggests he would likely do well with them, provided they understand he's a larger dog.
Ideal Home
Ernie would thrive in a home where he can be a beloved part of the family. He's adaptable and would likely do well in various environments, including with children, other pets, or as a first-time dog owner's companion.
Ongoing Health
Ernie is up-to-date on vaccinations and is HW-. He is neutered.
Training & Support
Ernie is house-trained and walks well on a leash. He dislikes crates and will try to escape, but he is not destructive when left unsupervised. He may whine or howl briefly when crated if he knows you are home, but he calms down with treats or verbal commands.
