Hi, I’m Valerie—and if you’re looking for a loyal, gentle soul with a second chance in her heart, I might just be your girl. I’m a 4½-year-old pit mix with warm brown and white fur, and I weigh about 46 pounds. My story didn’t start easy: I was rescued from the euthanasia list while I was pregnant and terrified. But I fought through the fear and found safety in a foster home, where I gave birth to my beautiful babies. That chapter made me stronger and even more loving. I had to have been someone’s pet once—I know how to sit for treats, love riding in the car, and walk with gentle ease on a leash. My foster’s 9-year-old son can walk me without any trouble. I enjoy chewing on femur bones, pig ears, rope toys, and playing outside. Treats? Oh yes—Beggin Strips, Purina dental chews, peanut butter, sweet potatoes, pinto beans, rice, green beans, chicken broth…I’ve even had home-cooked meals. I’ve never bitten or growled at anyone, and I’m extremely loving and gentle with children—even strangers who visit get nothing but tail wags and happy excitement. I respond beautifully to corrections and really aim to please.
Ideal Home
I do best as an only dog and absolutely no cats—I’ve shown I’m not safe around them. Loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms make me nervous, so I’m hoping for a quieter home where I feel safe.
Ongoing Health
I am heartworm negative, spayed, and vaccinated. I was on Simparica Trio to protect against heartworms and did great on it—no issues at all.
Training & Support
I’m leash, crate trained, and potty trained. I’m a Velcro dog through and through. I love talking with you and hearing your voice too.
