Renegade - Socially Imperfect Resident

Renegade is a sweet, resilient girl who came to us in 2015 as a shy pup in need of a second chance. Despite a difficult start, she has blossomed into a happy dog who loves to play with her canine friends and enjoys treats and gentle affection. While she can be initially defensive with strangers, she warms up with patience and consistency, showing her playful spirit and even offering little kisses. Renegade is a testament to the fact that every dog deserves a loving home, regardless of their past.

Ideal Home

Renegade would thrive in a home with someone who understands her unique needs and has the patience to help her continue to build trust. Due to her past, she can be defensive with new people and would do best with an adopter who is prepared to commit to a thorough bonding process. Potential adopters must be willing to visit Renegade 2-3 times a week for 3-6 weeks to build a relationship with her before adoption.

Training & Support

Renegade's past experiences have left her with some trust and fear-based behaviors. While she has made incredible progress, she can still be initially wary of new people and may try to scare them away. With time, love, and treats, she warms up and enjoys gentle petting. It's important to understand that in the wrong environment, Renegade could bite. A patient and understanding adopter is key to her continued success.
