Meet Abilene! This sweet, gentle, and goofy 3-year-old Pointer mix is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and ready to shower a loving family with affection. Weighing in at 65 pounds, Abilene is the total package!
Abilene's journey began on the side of a Houston highway, where she was found pregnant and in need of help. She proved to be an incredible mother, giving birth to 13 puppies and caring for them until they were ready to find their own forever homes. Now, it's finally Abilene's turn to be the center of attention! She's a little shy at first, but quickly warms up, revealing a playful and affectionate personality. Abilene loves to cuddle, follow her people around, and be part of the family's activities. Her joy and optimism are contagious, and it's been a joy to watch her gain confidence and discover the fun of being a dog.

Training & Support
Abilene is a dream on leash, walking calmly without pulling. She is fully house-trained and has never had an accident. She shows no signs of food aggression or resource guarding. While she may experience some anxiety when adjusting to a new home, she does well when left in a dog-proofed room with chew toys after a good walk, and also crates well. With a little patience, she warms up to new people quickly and is expected to do well with respectful children.

Transportation
Abilene is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible for transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Due to border patrol restrictions, adopters will be required to meet in Blaine, WA to receive their pup.
