Picnic is a charming 15 lb. gentleman, estimated to be around 9 years old, who was found as a stray with a matted coat and in need of significant dental care, including the extraction of 28 teeth. Despite his rough start, Picnic has a wonderfully trusting and loving nature. He's a fantastic buddy on outings and is known to be great with other dogs. However, his enthusiasm for cats means he'd do best in a home without them. Picnic is currently enjoying a temporary foster placement to help him adjust to home life, where he's been described as incredibly sweet, easy to handle, and happiest when included in family activities. He loves to cuddle, is a good boy during baths, has a healthy appetite, walks well on a leash, and is a perfect car rider. While he initially experienced some separation anxiety, he's made great progress and is settling into a routine, no longer needing frequent potty breaks and sleeping soundly through the night. He's a wonderful companion for trips to the park or winery and is content to follow his people around the house or nap nearby. Picnic is more than just a dog; he's a loyal, loving, and funny sidekick ready to become someone's best friend.
Ideal Home
Picnic would thrive with someone who is home often or can bring him along to work or on adventures. He needs a patient and understanding family who will give him time to settle in and feel secure in a new home. He cannot live in a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
Picnic has had 28 teeth extracted.
Training & Support
Picnic has made excellent progress in his foster home and is now reliably housetrained with only occasional need for a belly band. He no longer displays high-adrenaline or overwhelmed behaviors when adjusting to a new environment. He enjoys enrichment activities like lick mats and puzzle toys.
