A little about them
Toto is a sweet, cuddly, lovable neutered male Miniature Poodle who weighs 16.5 lbs and is 2 years old. He is a little shy at first, but with a slow, gentle approach he warms up quickly and enjoys affection. Toto loves walks, yard play, toys, cuddling, and snoozing beside his people.
Ideal Home
Toto enjoys playing with the friendly 25 lb dog in his foster home, though he can be possessive of toys and resources and may also be happy as the only dog. He has not been tested with cats or children; he may be curious about cats and could warm up to gentle, friendly older children. He barks when he sees new people or dogs and will benefit from continued socialization to build confidence.
Ongoing Health
Toto had mild dental disease and tooth wear while in care and may need a future dental appointment. His adopter should follow up with their family veterinarian for treatment recommendations. He was also treated for an ear infection; his ears will need monitoring, regular cleaning, and possibly future veterinary follow-up. His beautiful coat will benefit from regular grooming.
Training & Support
Toto is completing his potty training and is crate trained with some treats and persuasion. Indoors, he comes when called or when his people whistle, but outdoors he may run off to explore, so he enjoys several leashed walks each day. Continued training and socialization will help him become comfortable and well-mannered in different environments.
